Feeling curious?
Me too! My practice began in 2003 and has evolved in many ways over the years - and continues to evolve today. That’s one of the things I love most about it: the freedom to let your practice grow with you and to take from it exactly what you need in each season of life.
Outside of the studio, my own practice is mostly spontaneous — small movements on the living room floor to explore strength, flexibility, and access to ranges of motion. These moments are often the spark of what I offer in class: presence over performance, curiosity over perfection.
I have learned and studied with wonderful teachers both locally at home in BC as well as abroad and hold a 200hr YTT along with additional training in mindfulness, touch, and sequencing in various styles.
I’m a big fan of grey area, inviting students to move in different ways on different days. I love teaching big group classes for the energy, anonymity, and space they offer for people to tend to themselves. And I equally love smaller groups for the connection, care, attention and guidance I can offer each individual during our time together.
You'll find me teaching and practicing throughout North Vancouver in various studios and events spaces, with the occasional class or event in the city. For my weekly schedule and latest updates, check my Instagram stories @janehillyoga
